Private Study

Private Study is required for all music majors and is considered a credit-bearing class. Some students, instrument and repertoire-dependent, may need to pay additional accompanists’ fees, but Private Study does not require an additional fee beyond regular tuition payment.

Bachelor of Music students take hour-long weekly lessons and Bachelor of Arts students take 30-minute weekly lessons. All music major private study includes an additional one-hour repertory class. Private Study emphasizes instruction in musicianship, technique, appropriate literature and pedagogy.
