Department Information

Department of Music faculty are not only professionally active as performers, composers, music educators and music historians, but are also dedicated teachers who are fully available to undergraduate and graduate students. Our students benefit from a low student-faculty ratio which affords the opportunity of working closely with faculty who are personally supportive of each student's individual goals. This community of artists and scholars provides an ideal atmosphere for the growth and nourishment of the young musician.

The Amy E. du Pont Music Building houses nearly all Department of Music activities. An adjunct building, one block from the main music building, houses the administrative offices for the marching band. The department also has access to Bayard Sharp Hall, an additional 100-seat recital venue located two blocks from the music building.
