Conductor and soprano Nicole Aldrich Clouser divides her musical time among singing, conducting, teaching, and playing. She appears regularly throughout the area in solo vocal recital and has made repeat appearances as soloist with the Newark (Delaware) Symphony, Newark Ecumenical Chorus, and University of Delaware Schola Cantorum. She served on the applied voice faculty of the University of Delaware for two years and has directed University Singers since 2000. Ms. Clouser also directs the University of Delaware's Women's Chorus, a group designed to teach beginning choral singers the basics of vocal production and music reading in addition to performing quality treble-choir repertoire. She has conducted the group since its creation in the spring of 2001. Her experience as a teacher of singing greatly influences her work as a choral conductor, and her choirs are known for their healthy approach to vocal technique and solid choral sound in addition to their expressive singing.

Also a noted pianist and accompanist, Ms. Clouser appears regularly as a collaborator in instrumental and vocal recitals. She studied both piano and voice at Virginia Wesleyan College, graduating summa cum laude in 1996. She went on to earn a master's degree in conducting from Northwestern University, where she was the recipient of the Frederick Swann Scholarship. Ms. Clouser is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and is currently serving a two-year term as president-elect of the Delaware chapter of the American Choral Directors Association.
