Christiaan Taggart began his guitar studies at age eleven with Peter Cologna and was the first guitarist to be accepted at the Philadelphia Musical Academy. As a soloist and ensemble performer Mr. Taggart has been acclaimed by critics: "Mr. Taggart's technique was dazzling, fast and sure ... a velvet tone." (The Richmond Times, Virginia). "He ought to be heard again and again." (The Wilmington News Journal, Delaware).

Mr. Taggart has appeared as soloist with the Delaware Symphony, the Richmond Chamber Players, the Delaware Chamber Orchestra, the Wilkes-Barre Ballet and the Pennsylvania Chamber Orchestra. Since 1982 he has performed and recorded with flutist Eileen Grycky as the Taggart-Grycky Duo. After the duo's recent concert tour of Belgium, Le jour-Le Courier (Brussels) described Mr. Taggart as "a master of his instrument ... he left the audience breathless."

Mr. Taggart's transcriptions for flute and guitar have been published by Theodore Presser and Company.
