Audition Requirements
Music Education Major
- ETUDES - one from the following:
- Studies for Bassoon, Weissenborn/Kovar, Vol. II,#5,9,12, and 13
- SOLO - one from the following:
- Beethoven, Allegro from Sonata Pathetique
- Bozza, Espiegleri
- Dubois, Virelai
- Galliard, Sonatas
- Luening, Sonata
- Phillips, Concert Piece
All Music Education Majors will be expected to play all majors scales - two octaves (where Possible) - eighth notes with the quarter note equal to 120 beats a minute. Also, a three-octave chromatic scale (e to g). All scales slurred or tongued.
Applied Music Major
- ETUDES - two from the following:
- Studies for Bassoon, Weissenborn/Kovar, Vol. II, #20, 21, 22 & 29
- SOLOS - two from the following:
- Boismortier, Sonata #5
- David, Concertino
- Hindemith, Sonata
- Pierne, Solo de Concert
- Stamitz, Concerto in F
- Weber, Concerto, Op. 75, Rondo
All Applied Music Majors will be expected to play all major scales - two octaves (where possible) - eighth notes with the quarter note equal to 120 beats per minute. Chromatic scale, same as above.
