For more than 60 years the Department of Music has been dedicated to the musical growth of its students and the cultural enrichment of the academic and regional communities. The department offers Bachelor of Arts degrees in Music and Music Management, as well as Bachelor of Music degrees in Music Education, Theory/Composition and Performance. A Master of Music is available in Performance, Conducting, Composition or Music Education, while a music minor is offered in applied music, musical studies, jazz studies, music management and church music. All UD students may audition for the performing organizations, including the marching band, wind and jazz ensembles, orchestras, choral groups, the early music ensemble, steel band, opera and chamber music ensembles. In addition, more than 1,000 students enroll in music appreciation courses each year, and more than 500 students earn academic credit by taking part in the department’s music ensembles and performance programs. During the academic year the department presents over 250 concerts featuring students, distinguished faculty members and special guest artists. Your support helps our students and our programs.
