WHY DIFFERENT LEVELS?

We offer three different levels of instructors as listed below.  These levels do not indicate the level of the student but only of the experience level of the instructor.  We accept students of all ages.

OUR THREE LEVELS OF INSTRUCTORS

JUNIOR LEVEL

Undergraduate students currently enrolled in the UD Department of Music and have been carefully selected for their musicianship and ability to teach.  These instructors are gifted and supervised.  It can be an inspiring experience for young, beginning musicians to have an enthusiastic, talented instructor who isn’t too much older than they are.


  • Available: guitar, trumpet, flute, cello, ukulele, voice, piano, horn, trumpet, euphonium, tuba, clarinet, flute, piccolo, saxophone, trombone, bassoon, oboe

PROFESSIONAL LEVEL

Graduate students and experienced adult instructors. Instructors in this category have years of experience, music degrees or certificates and are very adept teachers.


  • Available: piano, guitar, flamenco guitar, music theory, flute, clarinet, violin, viola, drums, voice (plus audition prep option), composition, percussion, cello, double bass

ARTIST LEVEL

Professional, performing musicians and University of Delaware faculty.   Those wishing to study at this level will be asked to audition to ensure proper placement.


  • Instruments available with Artist instructors: piano and drum set (audition required and subject to availability).
