September 1, 2006:
Our first ever summer UDMBAA reunion event was a success! On August 5th a group between 25-30 UDMB alumni gathered at Frawley Stadium
during a Blue Rocks game. Thanks to the efforts of Jennifer Dalby, the picnic dinner was a blast. Alums caught up on each other's lives,
relived old memories and even recruited some very RECENT alumni (graduates from May 2006) to join the ranks of the eGroups and future events.
Some many engagements and weddings to other band members--and even a few future UDM-bandos were running around, quite literally! Thank you Jen, and
here's to many more events like this in the future. GO BLUE HENS!
March 10, 2005:
Jennifer Moore attended the UDAA general meeting. She presented the mockups of the wrap for the UDMB equipment truck.
She announced that the project is scheduled to be completed later this spring. The delay was caused by unexpected
complications outside of our immediate control.
October 2 , 2004:
Homecoming 2004 was a great success...ok, it rained! But it's Homecoming--it ALWAYS rains!
Over 70 UDMB Alumni participated in this year's halftime performance. The highlight was a FULL BATTERY DRUM LINE!
Following the usual damp rehearsal the Alumni drum line was found on Frazier Field having a sectional--unbelievable!
The biggest challenge was finding instruments for alumni to use. With the "baby band" being over 350
members and fielding 19 sousaphones, 16 baritones and 18 mellophones there was not a single spare low brass instrument
for the Alumni Band to use. If anyone has contacts out there for borrowing equipment in the future please let the board know.
June 10, 2004:
Jennifer Moore, our official representative to the University of Delaware Alumni Association, attended the general meeting.
The UDMBAA was officially welcomed and recognized as a Satellite Organization.
March 31, 2004:
Dean Mark Huddleston of the College of Arts and Sciences officially acknowledged/supported the formation of the new UDMBAA.
This endorsement allows the UDMBAA to become a Satellite Association of the UD Alumni Association.
