Cope has received two fellowships from the Delaware Division of the Arts for his composition work: the Emerging Artist Fellowship in 2011 and the Established Professional Fellowship in 2015. In 2019, he was awarded an Emerging Professional - Music: Solo Recital Fellowship, which partly inspired the performances on the new album.
