Prospective voice students must submit a prescreening video though SlideRoom (Common Application "Arts Supplement"), in addition to a music resume, by January 15th. The priority deadline is January 1st.
Upon successful prescreening audition, students selected by the panel will then be invited to audition on campus on one of the scheduled audition days January 29, 30, or 31.
Students who do not submit a prescreening video will not be considered for the music major.
All Majors, Minors, Merit and
All vocal students will be expected to perform two
stylistically contrasting vocal solos from standard classical
repertoire, from memory and with accompaniment.
Examples of standard classical repertoire:
- 17th and 18th century Italian songs
- Lieder (Schubert, Brahms, Schumann, etc.)
- French melodies (Faure, Chausson, etc.)
- Early or contemporary songs in English
The student should bring the piano accompaniment music with them to the
audition. All students must perform with the accompanist provided by the
School of Music.
Vocal majors auditioning for Music Education Choral/General Degree Program will
also complete an interview with the Music Education faculty on the day of their
