Adrienne Harding manages on-campus and off-campus recruitment events, music admissions and audition pipeline, scholarship awards and distribution, and public relations pertaining to marketing School of Music programs, students, and faculty to prospective undergraduate and graduate students, families, and student advocates.
Adrienne’s involvement with the University of Delaware comes full circle, starting in high school with an auspicious music audition for DE Governor’s School, then UD Summer College, she eventually received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in flute performance from the University of Delaware. She went on to teach honors, merit, and minor private study for eleven years as adjunct faculty.
As a UD alumna, Adrienne received a prestigious US Student Fulbright grant to Salzburg Austria. She returned to UD to present a lecture, “Finding Your Groove: How a Flutist Danced her Way to a Fulbright,” for the UD Fulbright Society Lecture Series. Adrienne has presented research on interdisciplinary music and dance pedagogy at the College Music Society Northeast Regional Conference (Newark, DE), National Conference in Vancouver, BC, and was invited to the international conference in Brussels, Belgium, in 2019.
Adrienne Harding is a dynamic performer on stage and behind the scenes in a multi-faceted music career, including a Carnegie Hall debut as principal flutist of the National Festival Orchestra under Maestro Lukas Foss, a full scholarship to the Mozarteum International Summer Academy and she continues to perform and teach actively.
With passion for progress, Adrienne sees administration as a vehicle for access and also collaboration. This has inspired her work with organizations such as the Philadelphia Cultural Fund, Pennsylvania Arts Council, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Sphinx Organization. In 2020, Adrienne was awarded a two-year executive leadership fellowship to the SphinxLEAD (Leaders in Excellence, Arts & Diversity) program.
Adrienne also holds a second master’s in Arts Administration from Drexel University, and is currently a doctoral student in the Educational Leadership program at the University of Delaware.
In 2022, she was initiated into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, membership is prestigious and highly selective based on character and academic excellence.
