Between 220-240 members of the band are brass and woodwind players.
All new brass and woodwind members aspiring to be part of the UDMB must audition. We are preparing to return to our UDMB Orientation Days for 2022 as long as we are able to be in-person*.
AUDITIONS: In an effort to make this process as painless as possible, as well as informative as possible, all new members are expected to attend ONE of our UDMB ORIENTATION AUDITON DAYS. The day is set up in the form of a workshop. Students undergo a playing audition, participate in an introductory session on our marching technique program, and attend an informational session with the UDMB Student Leadership Staff. Students depart having met 1/3 – 1/2 of their entering class as well as many of the upperclass staff members, thus allowing for an easier transition when arriving for band camp.
*For in-person events, all university CoViD-19 procedures must be followed. The most up to date information will be posted here at least 2 weeks before each event.
Should the pandemic make in-person events not possible we will post information on alternative audition procedures at a later date.
If you cannot attend either date, email Professor Sarver for an alternative option!
