Children and one caregiver participate in a variety of classroom activities to develop basic musical skills! The caregiver stays in class and participates with their child.
Activities include:
- Singing
- Chanting
- Dancing and Movement
- And more!
In addition to in-class activities, we highly encourage music exploration in the home! Those who register will be given information on how to apply class materials at home!
All of our Lead Teachers are current Music Majors at the University of Delaware and they have received certification in Early Childhood Level 1 through the Gordon Institute of Music Learning and/or they have completed specific training with a University of Delaware Music Education faculty. All classes are held in the Amy E. DuPont Music Building on the University of Delaware campus.
Sibling Policy
In
order to control class size, siblings are welcome to attend their
brother's or sister's classes only if they are registered. Siblings may
be registered for a flat fee of $75 per semester.
Parent/Caregiver Orientation and Open House

Scheduling Note
We anticipate there being two sections of each MFYM class: Section 1 at 9:30am and Section 2 at 10:30am. Section 2 is only offered as overflow after Section 1 reaches capacity. It is very likely that Section 1 will reach capacity early on - register early if you prefer the first time slot!
If you have a specific request for a section, please email: communitymusicschool@udel.edu. Requests can not be guaranteed but we will try our best to accommodate.
