The University of Delaware School of Music announces an Adjunct Voice
position (soprano, mezzo-soprano, or contralto; part-time, non-tenure track)
to begin August 31, 2021.
The successful candidate will join a thriving music program and Voice Area with a proud and long-standing tradition of excellence in music education and performance. The School of Music is committed to providing transformative teaching, inclusive programming, and collaborative opportunities for its approximately 350 music majors. The desired candidate would primarily demonstrate excellence as an applied teacher of voice, a background with evidence-based voice pedagogy practices, and facility and experience as a solo performer. A master's degree in music is required.
The primary responsibilities of the position will be to teach weekly applied lessons for undergraduate students majoring in music education and voice performance, to supervise recitals, and to hold a weekly repertoire (studio) class. Other teaching duties may be assigned based on the qualifications of the candidate and the needs of the department, such as the teaching of Diction, Voice Literature, or Voice Pedagogy. Preference will be given to applicants with established technical methodologies, demonstrated success in addressing functional singing deficiencies, and those with experience in both classical and CCM pedagogical styles. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with the Voice Area faculty and ensemble directors in performance and recruiting.
