Community Music School

The University of Delaware Community Music School (UDCMS) is the outreach program of the University of Delaware School of Music. For over 25 years the UDCMS has provided a wide variety of music instruction options for more than 500 students a year. Our current programs include vocal and instrumental private study instruction, enaging group music classes, and fun summer camps! We are proud to have a wide range of instructors from students in the School of Music to professional performers with extensive experience. Whether you are a well-experienced musician looking to hone your skills or try something new, or a novice musician looking to get started, we welcome you! We ask that you please follow the below, per University COVID guidelines:

If you have tested positive for COVID-19, isolate yourself for 5 days then wear a mask for 5 additional days as symptoms improve.

If you are exposed to someone with COVID-19, wear a mask and monitor symptoms for 10 days. You are encouraged to get tested 5 days after exposure or any time symptoms may develop.

Inclement Weather Policy

In the event of inclement weather, if the University of Delaware closes, all UDCMS classes and lessons are canceled. Private study students will be contacted by their individual instructors. Group classes will be contacted by their ensemble director via email.
