There’s no greater group of friends than band friends! Bring a friend and make new ones during this music-filled week led by prominent band director, adjudicator and performer Pamela Letts. Mrs. Letts will be joined by the best-of-the-best local music teachers so that each instrument section has a teacher just for them!

The schedule includes group rehearsals, instrument-specific sectionals, theory and aural skills classes, as well as workshops by UD faculty and local artists. Which band section will dominate in the annual trivia game and win the most candy?! Join us to find out!

The repertoire for camp is intended to challenge and enrich the students. There will be a mixed range of experience levels and everyone will learn and grow throughout the week! Players must have 2 years of experience on their instrument to register!​

Camp is held in the beautiful Puglisi Hall and the Amy E. du Pont Music Building and concludes with a Friday evening concert for family and friends in Puglisi Hall.​

Dates, tim​​​e, location​

  • 7/8 - 7/12
  • 9am - 3:30pm
  • Concert: 7/12, 7:00pm
  • Puglisi Recital Hall, Roselle Center for the Arts
  • Drop-off and pick-up at the South Entrance of the Roselle Center for the Arts
  • Campers may be dropped off and picked up within 15 minutes of their camp start/end times. Any camper who is dropped off earlier/later than the 15-minute window will be charged the After Care hourly rate.​

Participant ages

  • Rising 6th - rising 10th
  • Minimum of 2 years playing experience on the registered instrument is required​

Co​​st

  • $275 tuition
  • Please see below for Before Care and After Care costs.

Needed ​materials

  • Each student must bring their own instrument and instrument supplies
  • Percussionists mu​st provide their own drumsticks (suggestion: use a Sharpie and write your initials on the drumsticks so they don't get confused for someone else's property!)​

Before Care & After Care

Do you need child care beyond camp hours? We’ve got you covered! Before Care and After Care are available in the Roselle Center for the Arts. Bring your breakfast and an afternoon snack and we’ll provide the smiles, crafts, and games! 

Hours:

Before Care: 8 a.m. until start of camp

After Care: end of camp until 6 p.m.

Cost:

Before Care: $40 for the week

After Care: billed at the end of camp week at a rate of $10/hour or part of an hour

Drop-in Note:

We know that sometimes schedules are unpredictable and every now and then you may find yourself unexpectedly needing Before and/or After Care. No problem! Families are welcome to “drop-in” as needed and will be charged the After Care rate. The After Care rate will be applied to all drop-ins, both morning and afternoon.​​
