The University of Delaware is pleased to introduce Mark Clodfelter as the director of the School of Music.
Mark Clodfelter has been with UD since 2019 and served as interim director of the School of Music beginning in 2020. Prior to joining UD, Clodfelter earned his bachelor of music education from Lenoir-Rhyne University and his master of music D from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. He is a professor of trumpet here at UD, and he is an S.E. Shires Performing Artist and plays Pickett Brass custom mouthpieces. He has previously taught at the University of North Carolina, and the University of Kentucky, where his students earned national and international recognition; winning coveted awards and professional placement. Clodfelter has served as a member of the faculty of the InterHarmony International Music Festival in Arcidosso, Italy, as well as the Aruba Symphony Festival, and he is currently on the faculty of the Tennessee Governor's School for the Arts. Clodfelter is a member of Covalence, a chamber duo, with Rebecca Wilt, his wife and renowned collaborative pianist.
